Bericht
Afgelopen week hebben wij de volgende mail ontvangen op de bestuurs lijst:
G’day , We’re a group of University students from Arts and Sound (NHL), based in Leeuwarden, the Netherlands. The reason we’re contacting you because we wanted to ask you if your studio would be interested in co-participating with our idea for a sound/visual art installation. We’re currently working on a project involving arts and sound, creating an interactive installation which will take place in Leeuwarden by the beginning of June this year. The project called “Leeuwarden’s Future” is being impulsed by the City council, together with a Innovative Media Company, with the aim of positioning Leeuwarden for the Cultural Capital of Europe Award, happening in 2018. The project involves the use of Bicycles, Alternative energy generation, Music, visuals and fun. The idea is to build an installation where people can “create” music together by pedaling an adapted set of fix bicycles, which will be equipped with sensors linked to a software which will control different music parameters, and then projected on the water surface. People will not only be having fun and get creative, but also exercising, and even generating energy at the same time, which will be used to power up and run the installation. We think it could be a good opportunity for both parties, since we’re more art students and we don’t really know much about IT / technical stuff to create the software ourselves, plus our timeframe is short and probably wouldn’t get it on time; so if you would like to cooperate with us, we would really appreciate it. As for your side, we would off course give you all the credit for the technical part, plus it would be useful for you as collateral promotion, which we think could be beneficial for your studio, since this project / event is trying to fostering innovation, futuristic ideas and technology, which will certainly attract the attention of the media and other institutions, and it would put you in the spotlight as well. We’re attaching you here a brief describing the concept idea plus some sketches that might help to understand it better.
